Can’t decide where to go on your honeymoon? After your big day, you will need somewhere to wind down and relax with your new wife or hubby. Of course, you will also want to go somewhere special - somewhere with a touch of luxury to celebrate your new marriage.

Safari Honeymoons
Why not escape to Africa? Whether you prefer relaxing by the pool or going on adventurous treks, Kenyan safaris offer something for everyone.

Kenya truly is a luxury holiday destination, with many boutique hotels and amazing lodges to choose from. It has been seen as one of the world’s best places for romantic getaways for hundreds of years. Incredible sunsets, clear starlit skies, diverse cultures and untamed nature will ensure you have that dream honeymoon.

Luxury Kenya Lodges – Your own Place in the African Wilderness
Many conservations offer luxury Kenya lodges perched on the top of rock kopje. Lodges for two often have an African retro theme with open fires, suede furniture and circular bedrooms, complete with a gigantic round bed. Step outside to your own secluded outdoor area, featuring a double rock bath and terrace with spectacular views overlooking the rugged hills to the deserts of the north.

Top international chefs will always be on hand to wine and dine you with delicious cuisine and 12 great wines from the southern hemisphere to choose from.

As well as honeymoons, Kenyan safaris are also ideal for families and groups. Large African lodges and houses are perfect for celebrating a special occasion. Houses comfortably accommodate up to six guests with three en-suite double bedrooms, sitting rooms, dining and kitchen areas. Master bedrooms have large outdoors baths set in a secluded rock area. Perfect for romantic evenings under the stars. All large houses also have a private decking area with plunge pool – perfect for cooling off on those hot African afternoons.

Safari Holiday Activities
Discover the Kenyan wildlife on a game walk or drive with your own specialist tour guide. Those seeking a spot of adventure have a wide range of activities to choose from, including abseiling, rock climbing, camel riding, mountain biking, quad biking, fly camping and horse riding. You can also meet the local Maasai community and take part in conversation work.

Of course, you are not limited to activities in your conservation. Further afield, you can take part in excursions such as river rafting, kayaking, trout fishing, bird shooting, and light aircraft and helicopter trips.
On days when you’re feeling a little less adventurous, you can kick back and relax beside the infinity pool or in the spa. Treat yourself to a range of massage, aromatherapy, reflexology and beauty treatments. Many conservations also have libraries and viewing decks with bars, open fires and GPS controlled telescopes.

Which Conservation
Choosing your conservation is no easy task. However, it’s a good idea to choose a park which has a wide range of African wildlife to ensure you get the real safari experience.

Certain conservations are home to endangered animals, such as the African wild dog, greater kudu leopard, striped and spotted hyenas, and the klipspringer and Grevy’s zebra.

Adhesive Tapes: How You Use Them and How To Use Them

Whether it’s Kapton or anti slip tape, when applying adhesive tape you have to make sure you’re doing it right if you want the tape to do its job.

Kapton tape is a particularly resistant form of adhesive tape. The fact that it remains stable across a vast temperature range – from -273 to 400°C – makes it suitable for a number of unusual uses. It was used extensively during the Apollo Moon missions, with Neil Armstrong even mentioning it by name as the Lunar Ascent Module left the surface of the Moon on its return journey to Earth. In the form of tape, it has many more everyday uses where a thin but durable insulator is required. These include insulation on wiring and other conductive elements such as capacitors, transformers and coils.

Anti slip tape has a backing of finely ground mineral particle aggregate. In layman’s terms, this means a rough surface which affords good traction to those stepping on it. It is perfect for use in both places where slipping in likely (e.g. on a flat stone floor which is liable to get wet) or where to slip would be particularly hazardous (e.g. in factories, laboratories or areas in which specialist equipment or materials are kept, and on stairs). In order to ensure your anti-slip adhesive tape is reliable, however, you have to make sure it is applied correctly.

With any form of adhesive tape – Kapton or anti-slip - you must make sure the surface to which you are applying it is dry and free of contaminants. Water or damp can break down the chemical adhesive and lead to your tape becoming loose. Contaminants can have a similarly dangerous effect. If, for example, you were to apply your adhesive tape to a particularly dusty floor, then the dangerous is that the tape adheres to the dirt and not the floor. Again, the risk of the tape coming free is increased.

Temperature can also affect the performance of some (non-Kapton) tapes; too hot and the adhesive may melt, too cold and it may be rendered inactive. The surface to which you are applying the adhesive tape should ideally be around 10°C. If you are applying the tape to stone, wood or some other porous material, then it may be worth using a special primer in order to increase the strength of the bond.

Remove the paper backer from the adhesive tape and press it against the surface. Continue to apply pressure along the length of the applied tape. This can be done easily by hand, though the use of a seam roller may help you get a more even spread and ensure that all areas are firmly pressed down.

Anti-slip tape comes in a range of colours, suitable for a variety of contexts. Black and white hazard line tapes are ideal for particularly hazardous areas, where it is important for an edge or potential danger to be highlighted. Plain black, white and yellow tapes are available for those contexts in which you wish people to remain safe, but do not want anything which looks too harsh.

Flowstrip are amongst the UK’s leading suppliers of adhesive tapes, supplying their products to the various industries around the world. Visit their website to take a look at their full catalogue of products.
